Precipitation sensor / rain sensor / rain gauge
A precipitation sensor or rain gauge is a measuring instrument for determining the amount of precipitation that has fallen within a time interval. If the precipitation sensor has a built-in heater, solid precipitation such as snow, hail or sleet can also be measured and the sensor can be kept frost-free and functional even at low temperatures.
Precipitation sensors are available in analog and digital device variations and with different measuring principles.

A rain gauge or precipitation gauge from the rain[e] series enables the measurement of every drop with a high resolution of 0.001 mm/m² and is smaller and more compact than many other rain sensors. The rain[e] rain sensors from LAMBRECHT meteo are easy to lift, transport, install and maintain.
Thanks to the use of high-quality materials, such as an all-metal housing, a precipitation sensor from Lambrecht is also weatherproof and durable. The compact and robust design with very low weight makes a weighing rain gauge rain[e] up to 50 % cheaper than many other precipitation sensors.
